Driving lights with toggle switch

So I'd like to add driving lights to my 2003 MCS. I do alot of driving in the colorado mountains in the dark winter months and I think my eyes aren't what they used to be. Does anybody know if it's possible to have them run to a toggle switch in the center dash where the fog light switch, window switches ect are? Also it seems like aftermarket lights are bigger/brighter than the OEM, but are they compatible with the MINI wiring harness? Is it possible/easy to do 4 lights instead of the factory 2?

I suck at electrical stuff, so I'd like to find the simplest way to do this while still making it look good.

Suggest you follow the OE install and put the switch in the console opposite the TPMS switch.

to OP's question about adding a toggle where the others are

this has been written on MANY times ... try a search

as you are not 'electrically savvy' I'll summarize by saying it is not straight forward because what you see are not actually toggle switches in the simple sense. They are buttons that send a signal to the main computer which THEN tells the various things to turn on and off. Folks have done surgery on the toggle bank to add a simple switch but it is not something I'd recommend for a beginner. Running a simple toggle on/off switch to some other location is MUCH easier.

If I were you I'd not use the MINI driving light harness, it is overly complicated for what you want to do. (I've installed several set of driving lites using both the factory kit and simple harness ... unless you want the full OE look - which you don't by your description - a simple harness is the way to go .. under $20 at a parts store, or less than that if you just buy the pieces you'd need: relay, switch, inline fuse, wire and crimp on connectors . . )

As long as the lights are installed using a properly wired relay, you can have 2 pairs on a circuit but they would all come on at once ... I'd probably split to two pairs with sep' relays & switches, so you could operate each pair alone or together; many will run 4 lites, two DL and two FOG. {check state law about how many lights you can have on at one time legally for road use however ...}
