Turn sig and light gremlins aftere gauge install - ideas?
I just installed the JCW gauge package on my 2013 R56s - the temp and torque combo. Followed all instructions after 1st disconnecting battery. Reassembled, reconnected battery, did 1st test. Gauges work fine, and all else EXCEPT: xenons come on when car is turned on (they should not), and light controls on stalk don't work (no effect of lights off, running lights only, and driving lights (which is when xenons should come on). Also, turn signals not working (E-flashers do work).
So, disconnect battery, check all work: check and test all connections, undo and re-do all plugs. Reassemble. Reconnect battery. Test again.
This time xenons behaving fine, and all else does as well EXCEPT for left turn signal. R turn sig works fine, just not the left. No response to stalk input. E-flashers still working. Re-checked all plugs multiple times, but no luck, L-turn negative is persistent.
Any ideas what I should check? I'm still thinking plug, but any specific one.
Also, does anyone know how the controls from the steering column work - I assume via CAN-bus. Is it possible that the stalk switch is damaged? I just don't know enough about CAN to be able to tell.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Thanks!

KilmerPT kindly posted a useful suggestion to my question above, in the thread on JCW sport gauge install:

From that post:
I had something similar happen to me when I first installed my MINI LED fogs: either the right turn signal didn't work and everything else was normal, OR as soon as I put the key in the ignition, the headlights would turn on even with the stalk in the OFF position. Thirdly , the footwell lamps didn't work occasionally.
My solution was to twist the wires from the sockets of the footwell module exactly the way they came when I first disconnected them. The two in the back (x14260 and x14261 and particularly the one in the front also for the footwell lamps I had to tape down so it wouldn't move as I would put the trim back together. I just used some electrical tape, and it worked like a charm.
