R53 fog light install.

Ok, so I've wanted to change my stock H11 bulbs to bright white ones, it looks simple but do i have to take off the bumper to access the bulbs? I can't find a way to get to them anywhere else. Help!

You don't have to take the bumper off, but you do have to undo either the lower plastic cover, and or some of the wheel well. It can be done without removing the bumper, but be prepared to have gumby arms and a high tolerance for pain!

Access to the bulbs is from the wheel well. Unfortunately, the R53 wheel well liner doesn't have access panels like the R56. If you turn the wheels all the way to one side and unscrew the front fasteners of the wheel well liner, I think you can pull it back far enough that you can reach in and twist the bulb holder to release it from the light fixture.

Thanks, I might have someone with longer arms (my brother) assist in the install. Would it be easier to do it if I had the car on a lift? Because I do have access to one.

Yes, with a lift and with the wheel moved its much easier. Pulling back the fender liner as much as possible helps so you will no beat up you hands.

Popping the plastic rivets out can be a little problem if someone has removed them before and damaged the Phillips head. You can use a fork head screw driver and hold the back part while prying up if the head cannot be turned. If you need new ones they are below.

#1 is the wheel well in the bottom left, the front #5 is the plastic rivets.

We also have the H11 bulbs here is someone is looking for something different.

Thanks and good luck on the install.

Thanks! I'll probably buy from you guys! I have a couple other things I want exterior-wise.
