Interior Door Handle LED

So, orange LED on my Drivers side handle is out....it's been out for 2 years since I bought my 05 R53 S, now, that i've decided to start doing manual projects (tore entire dash apart, replaced both cig lighters, changed fuses for both, added aux cable, painted engine, swapped out headlights for LED SPYDER lights....and so much more....) i've decided i want to tackle that. First and foremost, is there a fuse i can check? I can't track one down, and i'm NOT into soldering a fresh LED...not my cup of tea. Am i out of luck? Is the bulb dead and theirs no fuse?!? Thanks guys.

LEDs don't really need fuses, since they only use fractional amounts of power.

First, check for voltage, up I should either see 12 or 3 or 1.5 volts, depending on the model of led. Second, if you have voltage, check the ground. Third, if both are good, your boned. You will have to put in new LEDs.

Speaking of which, does anyone know where to even get them? I stock orange?

Soldering LEDs is a piece of cake. Just make sure you have the polarity right. On lead will be longer, and should be ground usually.

Ty, if i'm going to take the door panel off....to check the LED and power, i'll probably just convert all of my bulbs to a blue to match all my other stuff....I was just hoping to avoid it. Thanks!

.bump.

I just want to see what happens here. I've got a pair of '05 door handles with the LEDs in them, but I haven't gotten around to wiring them in yet. I was curious what the voltage was in there, I didn't think to measure it when I was removing them...

So, I ended up pulling the panel off. The door handle on the inside was the one having the issue. Apparently the bulb was fine....but the led clip had broken, so the whole time the LED was on and just floating around inside my door. My next big thing is going to put super/ultra white leds on the outside door handles. I think it'll look pretty sick.
