Light Weight Battery Suggestions...

I know I have seen online people using light weight batteries for their Mini's, but not finding any info now..... What are the dimensions of and weight of the factory battery (I have an 05 S)..... Also I have a pretty good size amp for my stereo... My car is 6 years old this month.... no battery problems YET.... just doing some research ahead of time! Also, trying to save weight to compensate for the stereo weight....

Can you suggest a battery that can be installed using existing hardware?
No need to be as light as the Braille, but lighter than OEM.
The Optima Red Top is heavier.

I bought a Braille battery dut don't have it yet! But a lot of people made a foam surrounding so the battery can still be mounted with the oem hardware!

Frankly, I wouldn't bother. You'll never notice the extra weight in street driving and the smaller, lighter batteries usually have their compromises. An Optima is a great choice.

Also, remember that the rear end on a Mini is already light compared to the front. Making the rear even lighter will, technically speaking, be detrimental to handling.

Deka is the generic for Braille. Same battery....just relabled. I ran the 11lb one and it went dead after the dome light was left on all night and wouldnt recharge. I would go with the 14lb one which has a higher CCA...

Oh yea..a DEKA runs for $70....so you can go through 4 of them for the price of a Braille.....
