what years are those lights from and what year is yours?
I believe the plugs should match up if you are doing swaps from gen2 to gen2. not sure if the years matter. I think 04-07 should match up. Keep doing a seach here and u might get a more solid answer.

i have a 2010 with haligens and i had looked into getting the black xenons (like in the camden) a couple months ago but when i started going through the forums i found mixed views, some said yes its just a plug in, some said it was impossible, and some said you would have to rewire everything!! Im not sure whos right, but i would really like a definate answer to this question too cause i would much rather have the xenons than having to settle for HIDs!

Well to the OP the top picture looks like they are from a 1st gen car and will not fit in a 2nd gen car and vise versa.

gen 1's mount to the hood and gen 2's mount to the frame of the car.

As for changing lights in a 2010 it is possible to go from halogens to xenons but not the other way around. They may be a little bit of wiring that needs to be done but it can be done.

Both of the lights pictured are r53 lights like schatzy62 said. You can retro fit xenons but will have to have the ecu reprogrammed surely. Maybe some rewiring aswell so +1 to schatzy

2 parts to this thread and not really related:

OP, If you have a first gen I think those are physically swappable and can be plugged right in but if it was an '02 or early '03 the computer module needs to be reworked (not sure on the details of this as I am researching myself right now for my R50).

I was not aware that you could get the Xenons retrofitted and programmed by a dealer to work. I ended up doing a retrofit of projectors and my own HIDs (D2S) on my R56. You might have to re-pin the harness for make a new connector and then you still would not have the auto level feature.

For 2nd Gen, it is possible to switch from halogens to xenon. There is a retro fit kit, which is the harness and various connectors and what not, but that kit does not inlcude the actual headlights. If I remember right when I priced it out it was somewhere around 2k+. It also calls for somewhere around 7-10hrs of labor. I want to do it, but not sure if its actually worth it.
