R53 Rear Brake/Fog Assmbly Durability...

Here is a question for anyone who may know out there: I recently did the Rear Fog Lamp Assembly as a Brake Light installation, and the installation (as others have covered really well here...) is not difficult and the results as a brake light are quite satisfying and effective. My question is this: This unit appears to me to be a "sealed", non-user serviceable assembly; i.e., meant to be a single-use item with a non-replaceable bulb inside. Does anyone out there know (for certain), if this is the case? If so, how long might the unit (Bulb) be expected to last? If not, what bulb is used to replace what's in there? Might it be a good idea to purchase a "spare" while they're still available? Thanks for helping out with this!
