What is the slot number "F-?" for the rear fog light? It is not marked on my panel cover.

There is not one specific fuse for the rear fog light. The rear fog light is controlled, as many of the other lights in the car, by the footwell module. So the fuse for the footwell module is the one but it would also be for many other items like windows, interior lights, and a bunch of other stuff.

Question is what are you trying to accomplish that you need this particular fuse?

Maybe jbewley was trying to accomplish what I would like to accomplish: install a switch and some minimal wiring to control the rear fog light that I have added.

The car is pre-wired for this light, but the computer cannot be programmed to activate the option. So I need to route some additional wire.

If there is no fuse, it means that I have to route the wire from the switch on the dash to the aft of the car, right ?

 

The computer can be programmed by the dealer but you would have to purchase and install the OEM toggle switch yourself. Search for rear fog to find info about that.

My '10 Clubman did not have the rear fog option but it is wired with bulb in place.
I have toyed with the idea of cutting the wire from the rear fog light and splicing to the front fog circuit with relay if needed. If I did this the both front and rear would come on at the same time.

For the fog light you added you would need to run a wire from fog light to a dash switch mounted somewhere. You would need to wire that to 12V. Don't know if there are any unused fuse slots in the fuse box? If not the you would need to add an inline fuse.

 

Do you mean that the dealer attempted to program the option but failed? It seems that some dealers have been successful but others not.

The prewiring runs to the footwell module. You could tap into it from there instead of running new wiring all the way from the back. Were you planning to install your own switch? The OEM toggle is a momentary switch and you'd have to set it up with a latching relay if you wanted to use it.

I have installed the light and the toggle switch.

There are several posts on this forum explaining that some Mini Cooper cannot be programmed for the rear fog light. My dealer tried but did not find the line to activate, and other dealers I called told me, based on the VIN, that this option cannot be activated on this car.

I do not feel like accessing the wire at the footwell computer. I imagine there is quite a number of wires on this computer, and finding the good one would be a mess. I would feel very bad cutting the wrong wire.

I am going to try the toggle switch with a flip-flop relay, and some wires running under the mat.

 

One suggestion...If you don't have driving lights,

Buy one knee guard panel with a driving light switch(51450428697) and use it as a fog light switch.

Only problem is that the 4-pin connector pinout for this switch is unknown.^^^ But, it is not hard to figure out.
