Supposedly the alarm system will pip the horn.

Alternatly a friend of mine uses his iPhone to find the car, there are several applications you can find which will take a GPS fix on where you parked the car and then guide you back there.

Relying on more technology to solve a simple problem is killing your brain cells.

The most simple solution is to have a pen in your car (like most people do) and write on your palm the location of your parking area. All big parking structures have indicators... like 3C for 3rd floor at the C section. I've been to theme parks with huge parking lots, where I need 20-30 minutes to get to my car and have never been lost.

...or trade-in your Mini for a VW or Audi. My '01 New Beetle has Engine Immobilizer / Alarm as stock issue. On the keyfob there is a Panic button. Press it and your VW/Audi screams murder!!!

Several years ago there was a write up on this forum where an owner had hooked up a simple audio device; when you unlocked (and locked) the door it made a sound. You should do a search.
