Here's a link to the wiring instructions for the proper installation of the driving light kits like Mini-spares sells:

Contrary to what Mini-Spares says on their website, you do not get a switch with this kit. There's no provision for it unless you break into the harness and splice in a line. I guess the term "switch" translates to "relay" in American.

After you get it wired up the dealer does have to activate them. Mine charged me $27.00 to do so (I've heard of others charging anywhere from nothing up to $90!... it takes the tech about 10 to 15 minutes for the entire process).

An afterthought....... If you notice one of the first lines in the instructions states that total install time is about 2.25 hours. I'm glad to know someone at MINI has a sense of humor!
