NEED AMP....NOW!!

Hi, I'm REALLY new to the site, just bought my MINI a few weeks ago. My radio was playing just fine, then last Wednesday, I heard some pops, the stereo went out, then worked again, only to go out 5 minutes later. It worked off and on for a few days, now it doesn't work at all. No sound, no nothing. I tried bidding on an amp on Ebay, only to have someone come in and outbid me in the last 2 seconds of the auction. I can't stand going without my stereo and really need an amp badly! Can anyone help me? PLEASE!! Thanks!

I take it you arent under warranty? Several questions,

1. How are you so sure it is the amp.

2. Given the need for an amp you must have H/K right?

3. Willing to go custom?

In answer to your questions,

#1. I have the same problems that consist with other threads on the stereo such as popping in the speakers and no sound whatsoever

#2. I do have h/k sound system

#3. I want to keep it all original, so I would rather stay with h/k sound system.

If you have any other ideas as to what is causing my problem, I would really appreciate it if you were to share with me how to fix it. I have gone without my stereo for a week now, and it's getting a little old having to listen to my xm radio with a little tinny speaker attached to it. I've only had the car for a few weeks, and to have the stereo go out and/or not have any sound in it is getting a little old for me. I need to have my sound.

You still under warranty? I ask because the H/k Amp's are very expensive.

BTW, try asking a Moderator to move this to the navigation/audio section, you will get a lot more answers there.

Also, if you see another one come up on eBay, I'd suggest going higher than $60 if you want to be sure you win it. The H/K amp is $950 if you end up having to buy a new one, so even a couple hundred for a used one would still be a bargain.

Sorry you got "sniped" on the eBay auction though. I promised it wasn't me, even though for $61, I wouldn't have minded getting one for a spare (both my wife and I have the H/K system). I never dreamed it would end up going for that cheap, though.
