Xenons getting dimmer?

Before:

Are your xenons getting dimmer and less defined over the years? I just installed some 02-04 xenons and one was really foggy. I searched and most people seemed to just replace the entire fixture or just dealt w/ it...

One light was so bad, it looked to be half the brightness of the other. Today, I opened the hood, removed the high beam, and stuck a coat hanger with a lint free cloth taped to it, and sprayed a little windex on it. A few wipes later and they look brand new. The one that was dirty now puts the other one to shame...I need to do the other one next week.

From my experiment.

Xenon light up bright.

Given a few mins to warm up, the settle down to a dim mode.

Arnt those rubber seals on everything suppose to keep dirt out? I would think that even with a film of dirt on the inside of the lens, the light wouldnt be hampered that much and at least look blue/white.

My Xenons are as good as ever, if not brighter than new. I heard that xenons get brighter with age.

Theres a thin layer of film... You can see it well on my "before" pic. I pulled my car up to a wall at night, and my dirty light looked about half as bright.

Do you mean your bulbs get brighter with age or the headlight itself? Im not sure about that.
