Turn signal bulbs

Does anyone have a suggestion of a autoparts chain that sales the turn signal bulbs for the R56 (1056 & 12496 versions). I've checked a couple of local places and have been unsuccessful.

I'm attempting to make my own silver bulbs. While I'm not sure how it works I am trying to experiment. I remember seeing something a while ago on a BMW forum about someone taking a normal amber turn signal bulb and very lightly spray painting it silver. From the pictures that I saw, it still lit up amber as if nothing had been done to it.

I'm definitely not about to spend $28 for a true pair of stealth bulbs but I like their look.

Pep Boys has the Sylvania Silvervision bulbs for about $10.00 for 2 bulbs. Autobarn.com also has them

Thanks. I'll have to check out Pep Boys this weekend. The only thing I'm worried about is that they won't have the particular bulb types for the Mini. No other place I've been has had them.

iirc, the R56 uses PY5/21W bulbs, which Sylvania has--- See the stuff in the red-packaging.
