Camp Courageous
Camp Courageous
My wife and I were talking about Spring and Summer Mini activities and the Camp Courageous Car Show came up. We used to belong to the Cedar Valley Street Rod Club (sponser of this event) and the Cedar Rapids Corvette Club (usually wins most club cars at the event) so we've attended this event numerious times. This is a very worth while event as all proceeds go to the Camp to help with their yearly operating budget.
One of the neat things about this event is each club parks all their cars together ( need to notify CVSR's ahead of time). We were wondering if there would be any interest within EIM's to have a contingent from our group attend this event in late May. The event is scheduled for a Sunday and cars start showing up about 8:00 am and the trophy ceremony is held about 3:00 pm.
In addition to the show, there is a silent auction for items like car care products, tools, etc. A very nice breakfast is also served at a reasonable price and pin stripped items like wastebaskets, toolboxes, milk cans, etc ( done by pin strippers in attendance) is auctioned off before the trophy ceremony.
I just thought I'd throw this info out for general consideration, perhaps we could discuss it further at our upcoming lunch this Saturday.
As they say--I have no dog in this hunt! Just wanted to expose this event to fellow EIM members.
Have a great week all- see you at lunch! Ron

Ron, this sounds like a fun opportunity for a good cause. I know I'm always looking for an excuse to give the MINI a good detailing. Plus, I always love the chance to put a Corvette in its place.
