We could MINI caravan... or I was contemplating leaving Fri afternoon and bunking/camping at a friend's place down Ioway (Quad Cities area). I think they'd have room for youse twose...

I unfortuanly have to back out of the event. I had something come up back in my home region . i really wish i could make it but as of right now there is just no way i can make it at this point in time.

 

Hey Tina, we're driving down on Friday - we already have a room booked at the Super 8 in Toledo, IA. I'm not sure yet what time we'll leave, but we might be able to caravan at least as far as Ames (which is where we split off from 35 to get to Toledo). What time are you thinking of leaving?

We're leaving Saturday night up in the air; not sure yet if we'll find a cheap hotel room somewhere near the place we're having dinner, or if we'll drive all the way home. Depends on how "spirited" and exhausting the day is!

 

Well.... Kari has a social engagement Friday night (girls got more goin' on than her mama [sigh]), so she and I wll be leaving late Friday eve -or- VERY early Saturday AM...

So... we will see you all Saturday morning in Grinnell...

Does this group use FRS radios to communicate during the drive? I have 2, and can loan one if they'll be used and anyone needs one.

Yes, we're going to have a great time! And yes, we do use radios, so yours will come in handy. By the time we get to Grinnell, the sun will be shining and the rest of the day will be rain-free!

Just landed at the Super 8 in Toledo. We'll leave here just after 8 to get to the coffee shop by 9. Hoping the forecast is correct!!!
