After a little gentle urging, I am posting a picture of my best mod yet! I hesitate because it is a bit over the top even for a site full of MINI crazy people. I may have crossed over into uber MINI crazy But I love it!!

Make sure you remind him of that.

I wouldn't say that's over the top. I've actually thought about getting that mod myself...

While Molly2 is on the ocean I am thinking of a "pre-mod," and I am looking for opinions. I ordered her with sport stripes to be installed at the dealership. Now I am having second thoughts.

Comparing with/without stripes the "with" looks a bit busy and overdone, and "without" seems a little naked -- especially on the boot. I wanted something different from Molly's bonnet stripes, and something to go with the black wheels and headlamp housings, but now I wonder....

I plan to keep Molly2 "forever." Any thoughts?

Appreciate the Molly2 preview. The wheels and Joey mod headlights are going to look fabulous!

IMHO, go with your first inclination. I definitely like stripes better than no stripes, and I don't think the sport stripes you've chosen are overstated at all. In fact, with the other blacked-out lines of the car, to me the sport stripes even seem to "fit" the design better than traditional diverging bonnet stripes.

I am leaning that way, too. Maybe I am too susceptible to the glittering contours of the MINI USA images. They show-off every shading; whereas in real conditions the paint looks much flatter. So, what I am seeing as "busy-ness" would be much less pronounced in reality.

You can't go wrong with Euro-Stripes. They are unique and if you go with a larger one and a smaller one, I think it looks great. The Laurel Editions have Euro Stripes on them. I would have done it on ours, but we couldn't agree on it.

And I would have a vinyl shop do it for you. It is much cheaper and they can show you the different options. I did my own and it was pretty simple and saved me a ton of money.

I liked both looks. But if your concerned about the stripes maybe try a single racing stripe on the driver side then up over the top and down the back.

That should put all the Vipers out there on notice

I will have to look for one.... Have you seen the custom vinyls at MINI USA?
