E-Mini Insurance rates for SEs?
Insurance rates for SEs?
Hi all,
Have a 2011 MCS 6MT and have been thinking about going for an SE, particularly when one can get a $9900 credit on leasing and the residual looks reasonable too. Maintain the fun driving (albeit no shifting) while not having to worry about age and reliability.
I was running through a similar exercise on a Tesla Model Y and found they are extremely expensive to insure - my quote was near $3k compared to ~$900 for the '09 Pilot the MY would have replaced. My understanding is that Teslas are very expensive to repair and this is reflected in their insurance rates.
I have a query with my broker but thought I'd ask the forum: did you get any unexpected surprises insuring your SE?
cheers

Mine wasn't noticably higher than my old car (countryman).
Edit: I checked and I pay $2400 annually for two cars, a 22 SE and a 19 Clubman JCW.
