The last post to this thread was in April. I came here because I noticed a bunch of reviews of the new Mini Aceman. All European. And I was curious if this was coming to the US. The answer is No. This Aceman is made in China like the Cooper SE and with the Tariffs in the US on Chinese made EV (now 100% from the Biden administration) it will certainly never be sold here. But recently the EU is also raising tariffs on Chinese made EV in some cases up to 45%.... but hard to keep up on that. UK apparently won't. So after looking at these reviews I wonder where it makes sense to sell this car.
My wife has a 2015 Cooper and she might have liked this car. I sold my Acura 2 years ago and got a Model 3 and I'm never going back to ICE. She wants to also go EV but it won't be a Mini I guess. Overall, this is a decent car, the EV specs are not that great but would cover her for the vast majority of the driving she does. The reviews seem to be positive and that is retains its Mini-ness (which is in the eye of the beholder I guess). But sadly not an option for her.

What distances does your wife drive on a regular basis? Would a used F56 SE fit the bill? You can grab a $4k Fed rebate for least another 2 weeks and can now pick up a 2023 version. Yes range is limited but if 99% of your driving is within a 5-10mile radius it's absolutely fine. I've done 2 ~160-170 mile round trips knowing I could charge up at the destination (bit of research on charging options needed) and that was fine. You have the Model 3 for longer travels.
I'm showing 3miles/kW in our current frigid conditions so about 85 miles of range and 4miles in the warmer weather so about 116miles. Best I saw on the guess-o-meter was 121miles after a "fill" up.
Best of all it will be just like her 2015 with hopefully some upgrades.
cheers

+1 the MINI F56 SE used have really came down in price. And i have seen ones with the premium leather interior and other version that look really nice

Beware the dealers!
SEs ranged in price from 30 to 38k when new, but factor in the 7500 credit whether bought or leased and their "real" starting price was about 22-31k. State incentives such as MA's 3500 helped too. CarGurus is showing prices ranging from 14-25k, but be sure that those low priced ones aren't counting in the used 4k credit that may or may not exist in the near future. Taking all that into account, I think they're holding up quite well. If your state offers a decent rebate on used EVs (MA's 3500 also applies here), then you could score a great deal.
Harry from Harry's Garage finally swayed me into our SE
