Working on a direct fit Downpipe:
Ok, i managed to have a piece of tooling made which will allow me to expand a piece of pipe to the correct OEM angle and diameter.
The cats I use are highflow metallic cats yet they will not trigger a cel when installed. I just have to see how i get them to fit in place.
Im moving to orlando (3hrs) this month so i wont have much time to mess with it unless i pass on a karaoki night or bingo at the local lodge.
Dont mind my hairy legs, we wear flesh colored thongs right up to December. Hey, south beach is not that far away so its all good!

Hhhhmmm, I have to say it ..... Has anyone figured out yet how cats work ?!?! ...... via heat, reaction and timing ...... high flow does not always make it right ....
The ECU is looking for a certain amount of change/delta between the two points. The only way to achieve that is to heat the catalyst to a certain temperature and then to basically run the exhaust for a certain amount of time through it (hence the lengths which equals timing) to make the reaction work. Now a days any catalyst flows well and the amount of exhaust pushed by the engine is not enough to warrant a larger catalyst. We use catalysts by the ton at work up to sizes that handle up to 35 liters of gas at once .....
Now dual cats are slick if the sensors are located at the furthermost ends.
... lets see if anyone gets the hint and alters their designs slightly ....

You have to form a staight piece of pipe to a flare thats 40degrees just like the oem sestup. The common setup is 45 degrees here in the states so if i was to flare the DP to a 45, it will not seal to good on teh donut gasket.
