Hey there,

You don't have to use the pully puller but it makes life a whole lot easier

I have seen threads where people used a "stock" puller to remove the SC pully - and it was trashed by the time they got it off. I am not saying you can't go that way -- several people have and I am sure they are happy with it.

My main thing was not to damage the SC shaft or the SC itself ( very easy to do if you get impatient ).

For my $$ I would buy or rent a tool -- or find someone ( in a local club? ) that has one and borrow it. Just to be safe.

Good luck -- you are going to LOVE those mods

if you haven't done it or seen it done, your best bet is to have the pulley installed. Is the 1-150$ really worth taking the chance of screwing up your car? if you've got the ability, then go for it, but use the proper tools, it makes the job so much easier, I've done too many of these to count, use the puller. it's going to make the job easy and enjoyable.
