The MINI is brain dead

I pulled the ECU and am sending it to LDG to be flashed. The MINI is dead in the carport till I gets it back Wed. I'll sell the Unichip cheap if anybody wants it say $300

Not to mention dangerous as hell. Did you contact Unichip for an explanation?

That could happen even without a unichip, Are you saying you think it was to blame???? If you rev too fast (6850 RPM) it dumps .........in any gear.Explain please. Certainly flashes such as MTH and a few others will raise the rev limiter up to 7300ish. When my car goes 115 in 6th, I'm at 4400 RPM.

I would love to hear what Unichip has to say about this (or Randy Webb for that matter as he is both a dealer and a fan(and the person I got mine from)) Keep us in the loop! But from the sounds of it you've already made up your mind to dump it anyway.

Hmmmm ...... I have bumped my rev limiter several times since my unichip was installed... I have never had it happen to me. I would def. call unichip and see what was going on -- maybe a bogus tune?????

It's off and the ECU is on it's way to LDG, I'll see Wed when I get the ECU back what I think. The tune is supposed to be 190 whp, it dyno at 179.5 with the unichip. I also think there was a flat spot about 3000 rpms.

$350 is a very good deal!

Make sure to post a review when you'll drive it!

Are you asking John to raise your rev limit a bit?

I stopped in to talk with John earlier today. Saw the ECU come in, saw it go back out too. You're going to be happy with what got done. Make sure when you have some fun that you turn the DSC off (if you keep it on) it really does affect the acceleration.

The Brain is Back

ECU is back and in the car drove it a little there was a flat spot around 2500 rpm's that is gone and the rev limiter has been raised. Tomorrow I"ll get a chance to drive it and this weekend at Barbers I'll really gicve it a work out.
