Can you put this cold air intake filter on an Alta cold air intake box?

It should fit but may I ask why? From what I've seen, K&N filters really don't filter very good and re-oiling them correctly is a PITA (from personal experience). The Alta foam filter is probably going to flow as much as the K&N and give you better protection.

 

I was told the K & N filter lets less dust, dirt ect. into the engine. Is the red foam Alta filter really the best?

 

Well from my own experience with small engines in dusty environmets. A properly oiled foam filter will out perform a cloth filter, and the clean-up and re-use is much easier with the foam filter. Normal driving conditions they should preform the same, so i'd go with whatever your more comfortable with.
