If you want to hear the ultimate whine go to the M7 website, click on the "store" button, click on the AGS system and then click on the AGS video, Holy sh*t what a sound.

Poke around this link, you should see something interesting. I'm not saying it's the same as the Webb intercooler, but...

We worked with Dastek on the intercooler - it is the same, and it is not available from them either, due to the carbon fiber issue. We worked hard to get the unit right, and sent our research with photos and drawings to Dastek, who made changes to the design. We also met with them here in the States.

As info, Dastek is the parent of Unichip, which is how I became involved, being the first to work with Unichip in the MINI market. I have met with the guys from South Africa on several projects while in Portland at Unichip. They visit the States once a year I believe.

Hope that helps!
Randy

I have that same loud whining sound in my MINI, but strangely only when my wife is with me. Curious.

Carbon Fiber

-Thanks Randy,
I had that link in my favorites from a while back didn't know much about them. Slightly off-topic but the carbon fiber shortage is starting to be a P.I.T.A. My friend and I were doing a design excersise, looked at getting some carbon fiber laid... what was that 500 dollars? We looked at using garolite or fiberglass, ended up calling it quits.

I know that sound very well, trust me. However, the recordings on the M7 website are from outside of the car. You do not get to hear that sweet sound in the inside of the MINI. The Alta might sound louder inside the car. That is the unique thing about my recording. I hope that helps to clarify the difference. I love the AGS sound.
