How much shorter is the Alta short shifter in the middle position?

I am thinking of fitting my alta short shifter and wonderd how much shorter the middle position is to stock. and also is the shortest position stil a acurate and pretty smooth shift or is it too short?

Just experiment as it's very easy to make adjstments after it's installed.
