You are correct sir.

The ECU will be available at the install, and each unit is sent to Germany in a file and rewritten. Some important info I will need to have - when was your car built (on the inside of the driver door), what upgrade do you currently have (ie CD3.1, 3.2, etc.), adn what mods are dont to the car.

Can't wait to see you all!

Randy

I'd have to say that we are runnning way behind the signups for the FL and socal installs. We have only 8 and this is open to anyone who can make the drive to Dallas. We have one person coming from New Orleans for instance. This is a great deal at $400 so maybe we'll get more Texas signups before June 20.

I've promoted it to everyone I run into in the Austin Area. Just not very many S models running around here. I'll be there. Is it June yet?

No but this May heat is killing my performance! Hot air plus running the A/C! Alaska would work right now.

No joke there. All the smoke in the air from the annual Mexico fires is making everything STICKY. I bet it's nice in Colorado...

I just sent Randy my info so I can get the pulley done on my 2003 MCS. Hey Neutral, I'm in Round Rock and planning on going up on Saturday, maybe we can run together.

Ok color me dumb, sorry knuckle_sandwich, I thought your handle was neutral for some strange reason. Then I notice it seems to have to do with how many posts you've put up cause I'm neutral also.
Sorry about that gang

excuse my lack of knowledge on this matter: if you get the pulley mod...is it necessary to have either the exhaust or intake mod?

No, you don't need either the intake or the exhaust mods. The whole thing works better with them though because you get more air in the engine and a more efficient exhaust flow out the back. I don't know if Randy has any feedback on a pulley-only install. Randy?

Sounds like a plan to me. I'm planning on being "SICK" on 06/20 and mabye going up a day early. I'm in Pflugerville, so we're probably really close.

OK here's a really serious question. Texas heat has just hit us and the A/C really drags this car down. People are telling me they actually punch the A/C off until they get to cruising speed. I would imagine more low down torque and hp would help here wouldn't it? This might be the first summer season in the hotter parts of the US. The pulley might be our answer. What do you think?

Curt,

I got your info - can't wait to see all you guys!

Graham is right, the pulley alone can be done. That's one of the points I've tried to make clear - each mod is an option. You don't have to change the ECU, or do the intake, or do the exhaust. It will make the car get more power, but they can be done a la carte.

Knucle-Sandwich that will work out great, I'm off the Friday also, we work a 9/80 schedule so I get every other Friday off and that's one of them. Are you going to the Mini event at the new Alamo Draft House May 30? And there's another Mini event going on June first here in Austin to, a Mini weekend. Ouch, sorry, couldn't resist. I'll get with you offline.

Curt,

You have to bring your 914-6 too! Get someone else to drive it. I miss mine, and I could probably give you a few tips on how to make it better too .

Randy, I'd love to bring the /6 but the trans quit shifting on me the night before I bought my Mini, I think she was jealous and decided to let me know. I had to have her flat bedded home from work that night. I was moving her to another parking spot at work, tried to put it in first as I came to a stop and the shifter felt funny, like it wasn't connected, just flopped around. The car was in neutral so I pushed it into a lighted parking spot and removed the panel between the seats thinking the coupling had come loose, but the linkage is working all the way back to the tail shifter so something came adrift inside. No noise, no crunching no nothing, I've been having too much fun with the Mini to take the time to work on her. I'll at least bring pictures and I would very much like to pick your brain about her.

The 914 has to be on of my fav's from Porsche... Spent some time trying to find one at the "right price." No luck! I was looking for a relatively inexpensive project, but everything I found was out of my range. Curt, I'll swap you an '89 CRX for that 914... HEHE

Yep, I miss my six. It is happily running around in the SF Bay area now though - I still keep tabs on it.

Here is my last baby:

1970 Original 914-6, 1908 lbs, 3.2liter Motronic injected, hot rodded motor (270 horsepower), side shifter short geared 901 with Quaife, adjustable Koni coilovers, four piston Brembos, lots of really trick stuff, but still a sleeper.

What a beautiful ride! I bet you do miss it. I definitely appreciate the sleeper factor in all cars. Nothing better than speaking softly and blowing the doors off,,, er Carrying a big a stick, however that saying goes...

Well, my estimated production date is 6/13, so there's no way my MCS will be here before the installs. I hate to see this opportunity pass by! Oh well, I'm still planning to drop by and see how things are going.
