my Clutch is SlippiN, lookn @ a Stage2, any recommendations?

Noticed last week that my RPM's weren't holdin up anymore when i gave my Mini a good push... i've got a slippin clutch. i'm @ 49K miles so i hope i can squeeze by under warranty @ the dealer... I've been researching and think'n of upgrading to a Stage 2...? Has anyone had any exp. with it? should i change the flywheel too? Which top brand or package should i go with?...
any 411 would be GREAT!!!! ASAP!

Many Thanx in advance.

The dealer will only install a factory clutch, if they will even do that under warranty.

Anything else is going to cost ya.

Lightening the flywheel too much will make street driving more difficult, so will too aggressive a clutch/pressure plate combo.

I wouldnt spend the money on it unless an M62, or head, cam, and no stop and go traffic were in your future...

I have a Spec 2 clutch and a 16 lb flywheel. While there is a little chatter in neutral, I've adjusted to it as background noise. If you are going to do the clutch, then really consider the flywheel --- both at the same time will save on labor costs. BTW, I really like the setup on my car!

Good luck...

Nice to hear! I'm thinking of the same deal. Is that the flywheel that Spec sells? And did you go with the lighter pressure plate option?
Thanks!
Jim

it is NOT difficult to drive a car with a lightend flywheel... most people wont even notice a differnce in "driving effort" they typically just notice how much free-er spining the motor is. I have daily driven a car with a 7lbs flywheel... my mom could drive the darn thing... and yes it was an aluminum flywheel... i made over 200hp per liter and i never experianced a failure with an aluminum flywheel.
