Dinan Throttle Body

Anyone have one of these installed? Just wondering if the 3.75mm upgrade is really worth the $350...

Right now I have the CAI, wires and brace... eventually I will get the pulley upgrade and the stage 5...

Get the pulley first, then revisit the TB.

From what I've heard and read, there is no measurable benefit from getting a bigger throttle body. Spend the money on a header or ECU remap!

I talked to Steve Dinan about this very item...

1) I'd done testing, and hadn't found benefit at my (then) level of mods. I'd tested stock, 60 and 62mm, so I was skeptical.

2) Dinan has found benefit with the rest of their package. They have a dyno system that has sufficient airflow to trust the results.

3) They found that the failure rate on re-worked TBs was too high, so they just use new ones and don't have a core charge. That's nice in that you can keep your as a spare, or sell it for some $ back.

Overall, I wouldn't spend the $ until your further down the mod list. I still have my 60 mm, and it comes off every now and then as I don't seem to get that much benefit now, and it makes my flat spot worse...... But with the head and intake and new header, I'm anticipating some benefit. I'll let you all know in a couple of months!

Matt

I had the Dinan tb on my car for a while - otherwise stock JCW. It caused problems with driveability and smoothness (lack of, actually).

I wouldn't get it unless it's part of a Dinan package that they've set up to work together.
