Unofficial Turbo Only Thread

Well with Spillman's Turbo thread unveiling his Turbo setup I thought we should have a thread where pics/videos of Turbo only setups could be shared.

I'll start off with some pics I found over on MINI2...

Specs are Garrett 600hp turbo. Water-Air Intercooler with a 20g per min pump. It will have nitrous. All custom...

Spillman's Turbo Setup. Don't know any specs and this is the only pic he's posted here.

This stuff is really great, I wish I could do something like this to my cooper. I wonder if running just a turbo with a front mount intercooler would allow you to run a cooper hood, mhm? idea?

That it is. And it is very sick nasty. Does anyone know what turbo FTR is using. Are they still on the gt2871r or did they upgrade?

What turbo exactly is that car running?

And, can you give us any specs about your car. Turbo, software, exhaust, internals, etc. How much power are you hoping to put down at the wheels?

I am not going to post any speculations or assumptions. But I am running a stock ecu, AFC Select, Return style fuel system, 3in turbo back exhaust, cp pistons, ARP head studs, and ARP rod bolts.

The turbo is a GT2871R. Which is rated to 450 hp.

Sounds like a nice setup! Have you worked out the intercooler leaks? PLEAASSEE take some video of it. I love all this high horsepower turbo stuff, and I HATE all the naysayers and M62 groupies.. haha

Mine remained untouched for whatever reason, it was the Turbo thread and the Thread Turbo Disappeared thread that got locked. Sad too considering Dave contradicted what Mferguson said about being able to talk about the car so long as no mention was made. Which after the original thread 'kidnapping' there wasn't...

Oh well, hopefully this one remains untouched else I'll be even more pissed about how censored NAM is becoming... Seems they only pick on certain people too. I always get flamed for street racing and speeding (even when its hypothetical) while others don't. But that's cool...

Ryan's setup is awesome. I love the way it all looks like it's supposed to be there. Coolant and P/S res are in the stock location, and all the go-fast hardware is hidden. Excellent job.

Hytech does custom work.

But from your answer I assume that someone else did the one-off. It is beauteous regardless of the source.

Ryan did an amazing job, OEM quality, lots and lots of power at 15% reduction pulley psig... and its not 'that' expensive to do, compared to other turbo only kits!

Turbo only isn't much more expensive than a TC setup... It's pretty much the same price..

And let's not even talk about the M62, I bet that'll end up costing 4-5K and won't have half the output of a TC or Turbo setup... It's beyond me why people are all over that kits jock.. lol

Lol, if I had the cash I'd turbo my own Cooper S.. It's always funner when you do the work yourself, plus its always a learning experience. I'd prolly go custom everything... But since I don't have the money lol...

VIDEOS... anyone have videos of these bad-boys in action??
