New "Project"

Well, a few of my TurboDodge friends have convinced me to take my car to the next level... sooner than I thought.

For now, all I can show you is my new plate number.

...More to come.......

if you go single turbo, let me know how you get around alot of 'issues' with the ecu! are you going all out power, or a low lag turbo? PM me if you want!

Couldn't the tag mean "blowin' NOX" instead of twincharging?

I guess but that's somewhat of a stretch. I'm going to guess either twincharge or twin-turbo... i'll go with twincharge.. although a twin turbo mini would be something to see.

I hate to be the party pooper here but this post (not the person or the project) is lame for it says nothing. The thread should be deleted and a new one started when he has something more to say than I picked out my liscense plate - this is after all the performance section.

Well, everyone settle down...

This weekend is the start of the new project, which my good friend Jon Drago had dubbed "Project Badass"

It will be full custom, it will be a Twincharged setup. It also may or may not also have nitrous on tap.

The goal: spend no more that $500, minus the cost of turbo, on the entire project.

The timeframe: Before the last day of Fall. I want to drive the car before the snow flies.

Pictures will come this weekend, The custom water to air Intercooler should be finished by then. Also, the manifold, minus turbo flange and turbo, will be done. I have yet to make a decison on what turbo I will use.

If you achieve this goal, count me in.
Keep us posted, Rick.

So what Turbo will you be using? And how do you plan on keeping the cost to under $500? I take it you are doing the manufacturing of the Exhaust Manifold, Downpipe, Intercooler and Charge Pipes all on your own? Here are some questions as to the other parts you're going to be using: Injectors - size and company, BOV, ECU Tuning - S-AFC?, Stock Pulley?, Pistons - stock or uprated, Fuel Pump/Rail - stock or uprated... Hmm that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Hope to hear from you soon!

P.S.: You're starting to give me ideas, one of my friends close buddies is VERY good with a welder and makes Exhaust Manifolds, Downpipes, Exhausts and such for Turbo Honda's.. Top Notch Stuff... I hope your project is successful as this would have me VERY interested in your project. Moreso than I already am lol... Mmmmm TWINCHARGE...

i paid the price of a new turbo for a slightly used turbo kit, with everything included. It doesn't have the DIY flavour, but can still be financially attractive...

Ok, lets answer a few questions here...

Turbo... well its still kinda undecided. I have a few turbos to choose from that I will be looking at this weekend, to see which of the few fit the best.

Injectors will be 400cc m7's for now, until I can afford larger ones. Boost will be low until I get new injectors.

Blow off valve will probably be an HKS or a TurboXS.

ECU will be stock, other than the addition of the AFC.

Stock size pulley will be used, unless Alta will sell me a 10% oversize pulley.

Fuel rail and pump will be stock, other than the aditon of a gauge and maybe a regulator.

Pistons will be off the shelf Weisco parts.

All the fab will be done by me, with finish tig welding done by a friend.

I like VENT THIS. hehe

I'm gonna try and stop up sometime soon. My weekends will be rather busy now due to this project, but i think i could come back from home a day early one time and stop up on my was back to school.

m7 440 cc Injectors cost $30 more than the 400's

HERE is your 10% oversized pulley for $130...from High Performance Outlet

Where are you getting your pistons from and how much?? Are you going to get rods too? -- Johan
