Mini Cooper S Modifications

Okay If I got a Mini Cooper S hatchback, What could I do to it to make it faster and have better acceleration and where would I get it.
Also is the ALTA Turbo Kit a good buy.

Take a quick browse through the performance mods :: drivetrain forum. There are plenty of threads on initial mods suggestions. In summary it all depends on what you your intentions are with the car: daily driver?, track use?, combo? That's the first piece of info you want to provide before going any further. Believe me, if you don't say beforehand, sugestions are probably going in a numer of directions (and tangents)!

Once you know where you want to go with it, you will definitely get good feedack. There are a number of experienced people in the community glad to help out. Good luck!!

As MiniMac said it depends on where you're going with the car, and you're budget.

If you're looking into the Alta Turbo kit, it may be worth your wait to follow the Eitan M62 Supercharger Upgrade thread, SpiderX is appearently going to be a test mule in a new larger supercharger modification that's likely to prove very interesting.

Let me resume what has been talked about 2millions times here lol

Engine mod:
- Supercharger pulley (15% to 17% reductions are safe)
- Cold air intake (Alta, Webb's HDI, M7 AGS, Pilo,...)
- A good ECU managment (MTH, Unichip, Giac,...)
- An exhaust (One-Ball mod, or any other complete exhast systems)
- I'd suggest Detroit Tuned supercharger bypass valve. (I love mine!!!)

Suspension :
- a set of lowering springs
- a rear swaybar (this is a must!!!!!)

Brakes:
- Better brake pads
- Stainless steel brake lines
- TyrolSport stiffening kit

And btw, WELCOME TO NAM!!!!!!

Its a hot hatch not hatchback

From what I hear throught the grapevine in regards to the Turbos is go SPI get a good high volume IC, port and polished head and do and exhaust. I know 1 person who had an ALTA TC kit it was their first and it didn't stay on the car too long at more than 10k in costs to uninstall. I'm sure its improved by now but reliability was a big issue for the ALTAl.

As was stated before make clear what your intentions are for the recomendations to suit your needs. Straight line, corners, track, autox, daily, weekend toy, show to name a few categories.

Welcome to NAM!
