Exhaust tubing size

Just wondering if anyone knew the best size for the exhaust for the MCS? I know for turbos the bigger the better, but for supercharging i was under the impression that its similar to a N/A motor. And being only a 1.6L motor wouldn't anything bigger than 2.5" be too big? I read a while ago that 2.25" was optimum for a motor of capacity up to 2L so why would anyone need a 3"? besides being loud, i'm sure gas velocity would be far to low for it to be effective. Any thoughts? Also, are there any downsides to using a single sided system? Wouldn't it be far cheaper, simpler and more effective than a twin sided system?

our engine is a blown 1.6 liter, so if it should be blowing as much as 2.0+ liter NA engine... as for the effectiveness of 3 inch piping, Randy Webb's exhaust shows that an exhaust that big can work for our cars. I haven't seen a dyno sheet yet for it, but people with the exhaust says its putting down a lot of power but its race car loud. a 2.75 inch exhaust might balance the power with a more refined noise... a single sided is good for loosing a lot of weight, but there hasn't been a system thats as good as the millteck, borla, or magnaflow double sided systems.
