Some of my best ideas come to me in the shower.

And it is a great place to get drunk before going out, but that is another story.

Are you going to give us any more details or do we have to wait for the pics?

Well, i can tell you the battery is no longer in the battery box, is that good?

Apexi Muffler, straight back, the final position of the muffler will be about an inch higher, i dont like seeing all of the can itself.

working on an in trunk battery mount now.

You are crazy... Every decision I make has to be completely thought out. I can't wait to see your car in person.

What about picking up one of those Teeny-tiny batteries. I've seen them mentioned in weight-saving threads. Wouldn't that be easier to find a home for than the stock brick? I don't know anything about those little batteries - is there any reason not to go for one eventually?

Awesome job, though - that's one of the more amazing mods I've seen.
Straight to the point - excuse the pun.

no money for a new battery.

so far, i have under 25 dollar invested into this mod (minus the cost of the muffler)

Good so I'm not the only one that drinks in the shower

I like people that think outside the box and aren't affraid to modify -- Johan

Hahaha, awesome. I thought about that but would have never actually done it.

How does it sound?

I was trying to think of a way to mount an Ansa sport exhaust, since I used to use 'em on BMW 2002s back in the day, and the only way I could think of was to do something with that damned box!

Rick,
Just curious, with the muffler you have in place is there room to re-install the battery box rotated directly below where you have the battery mounted in the boot? Seems like there should be enough room but it depends on the size of the muffler...

Ok, I'm sorry but your MINI has got to win the "most ghetto'd MINI" award....your whole car is ghetto! And I honestly would laugh my *** off at your MINI if I saw it in person....it looks horrible!

I hope this was a joke and those are photoshopped pics!

Others have done this...

TonyB did it with a Borla muffler and a supersprint mid pipe.....

But save for the Dekka battery. Under $100 and save over 20 lbs....

I believe Randy from M7 did this?

If I remember correctly, Randy from M7 did this along time ago with a Supertraap muffler.

I took a ride in his car along time ago at a Webb pulley party in so-cal. The car was loud as hell. But I think he removed the cat . I love the idea

You may want to re-install that yellow thinggy..

it has the explosive bolt that fires in case of accident to prevent the battery discharging through a crimped cable or the like. IT's controlled via the SRS system....

The battery circuit is fused, it just doenst have the explosive charge inline anymore.

both of the main positive lines are fused.

But the cables from the boot to the front of the car are very long, and the fuses are at the front of the car. No big deal.....
