Reduced and amazed!

Who says bigger is better?

I had a Helix 15% RP installed yesterday along with a JCW intake. When examining the pulley, it's size difference from stock doesn't seem like it would have such a major impact on performance. I was totally amazed at how the car "woke up". There is more pull down low and less hesitation. It pulls harder all the way up the rev band too... This mod transforms the car without any negative drawbacks in driveability.
For all those fence sitters out there thinking of doing this.... you won't be dissappointed!

Many thanks to all for the advice and write-ups on the various pulley options

Good post and feedback,,, the change with power coming on at lower rpm is a definite plus especially for people not accustomed to buzzing a motor for power (I come from the big block hot rod world where buzzing a motor to 7000 rpm can make you very nervous even when built right)

I have an Alta pulley in the box for my new 06 and my only hesitation has been whether just to do it or spend the extra $$$ and do the Dinan boost kit (includes the pulley) that does not affect warranty. Of course, Dinan will only honor the warranty if you do their software which they dont have for the 06.

Having just recently sold my Z06, I needed to improve low end torque a bit.
I'm not sure you need any additional software. These cars run overly rich from the factory and AFR doesnt seem to be an issue with a 15% pulley.
There are aftermarket vendors out there that will warrant your car if you install their pulley and the dealer denies warranty work due to the pulley.
I'm not worried about warranty issues.. the 15% seems to be well within the boundries of the design limiits.

Remember.........if you have Dinan install the parts it will be a Dinan warranty, not a MINI warranty. Even if the dealership installs them.
