Randy, what's your opinion on this equipment? I don't think I will buy it until it's been tested on a Stateside vehicle, and then I will get it from you! I was particularly interested in the cam seeing as though Schrick won't cooperate with you.

Graham,

The first thing I thought when I saw this was - uh, those numbers, not quite.

The reason I say this is because they are using essentially the same stuff I've done, and I'm just not jiving with their numbers.

They are claiming 200 from the pulley and the superchips plus an intake. I had this same setup plus a throttle body, header, and Magnaflow, and saw only 208 or so. The packages go up from there, and reach a claimed 220+, all still at about the same tune as my car, and I don't have close to that number - even with more mods than they are doing.

The stuff they are doing is available stateside, but I am trying to do better than the Superchips with EVOTech, Unichip, or Perfect Power.

As far as the 240 - I used to think so too, but that will take quite a bit. The software, head and cam will probably get there, but I'll wait to see before making any claims.

The cam from Schrick is still at the top of my list - they have a great reputation and the cost is very reasonable. I'm hoping they are just busy, and I'll be able to get them soon - we'll see.

The thing that I did see on that site that piqued my interest was the big valve head. It sounds like they may not have it yet though - have you talked with them? There is development being done in conjunction with MINI-Madness right now on a big valve head here in the states, but it isn't ready yet.

I saw that you tried the Dynamat suggestion - did it work?

I think that covers most of it, let me know if you have any other questions.

Randy

Randy, thanks for the speedy reply,no I have not talked with them about any of this stuff. For my car and also my customers cars, I want something tested with US emmisions factored in. This is all Euro stuff and we have a huge liability if any of it fails in the US. I only brought this up because it seemed that more options were opening up that might work for us.

Yes I have the Dynamat on my car with the QS and I did see an improvement, much deader sound as opposed to droning. I have only one layer and others like Dennis d-mini-ero might want to double up. The glasspacks work also to absorb the pipe drone between the cat and the muffler without sacrificing power.

My best wishes to you and I hope your son gets back in the action soon!
