Hi, I just got my Remus exhaust system about 6 months now and the black coating from the inside the exhaust tip is peeling off. Is this normal and is there anyway that I can fix this? Thanks in advance.

 

Remus exhausts are famous for rusting, as they paint mild steel instead of using stainless steel. The best solution would be to have the whole system media blasted and ceramic coated.

 

Thanks Ryephile, I was think using Harley Davidson high temp paint to cover it up temporary. How much do you think it would cost to have it ceramic coated? Thanks

 

Ceramic coating is usually a few hundred bucks for a whole system. Typically about $20 per foot. If you want to use high-temp rattle can paint in the meantime, make sure you remove all the rust and old paint first so the new stuff will adhere to fresh metal.
