19%

Ok, im getting ready to drop some cash and do a rather large engine upgrade.

Im thinking Pulley, injectors, wires, plugs, coil, header and some kind of new side exit exhaust system.

Im just wondering, about the 19% pulleys...

How may people run them? Ive heard of high RPM danger, whats high RPM? above 6k? Would it be safe for trips on the freeway in 6th for an extender period of time?

Will 400cc injectors be sufficent?

do it

I have the alta 17% and crank 2% and it should come from the factory this way. I havent done the injectors or a remap but plan to so I say do the upgrades.

I think the hype over the 19% as being bad is a little overkill. I do no track time but do drive my mini reasonably hard. It sees redline almost daily, you will not need to drive as hard as you normally do to enjoy the car. But you will want to drive it hard because it is fun. The lower end torque and hp gain is great.

minimotoman is right. And don't worry about highway driving in 6th either. The S isn't even in boost at all when cruising on the highway. Yet if you need it, the boost will be there and downshifting won't be nearly as necessary as it is with stock or 15% pulley. I had my 19% pulley for 30-40k miles (I forget exactly) before I got the GIAC ecu and larger injectors. They add even more performance but certainly aren't necessary for safety.

no issues

since I am lacking the injectors and a remap the only problem I see is that I am not getting the max power that I should be. But it runs fine and with no problems. I drive it every day and have been a few road trips which were a couple hundred miles and no hiccups.

So dont rush the injectors, I would do the injectors last after a remap. I intend on remap first then the injectors. Since I do not track or auto cross time and only momentarilly does it see red line not prolonged use that the injectors will rarely see full duty cycle so they should be fine for my application.
