You use the odometer reset - this is off the top of my head:

You press and hold until you see the test menu - then you cycle through to test 19, hit the button to test 21 and click off.

It is something like that - I can tell you for sure tomorrow when I'm at the shop. The Bentley manual goes through all of the tests.

Hope that helps!

I'm under the impression from a software writer that that is just an instrument panel reset, not an ecu reset at all. To reset the ecu, you have to remove a battery terminal for 5 minutes, I think...

Interesting, I never knew you could do that...not trying to hijack the thread, but if you scroll to 3.0 will it reset the service indicator? or just show it?

I tried to re-set my service idicator today. I did the odo button push and hold, key in the ignition, turn to first position. But instead of getting the word "reset", I got "__1__test". Not wanting to screw anything up, I stopped at this point. Question is, How do I get back to "reset"?
Thanks!
Jim

You have to hold it there for a while. After it says reset, release and press and hold again. It should start blinking reset, now release, press and release. That should do it.

You won't mess anything up fooling arount with that button. First you would have to unlock the cluster and even then there's nothing ti worry about. If you run into trouble just cycle the key and try again.

This will only reset the cluster. If you do it be sure to turn the key off for ten seconds then on for ten seconds before starting. Not doing this can cause the tach to read slow.
