/cry...

my local ,mini tuner ( luis S) in Miami just told me that he doesn't think a 19% reduction pulley is going to be viable on my 05' S! I almost teared up..

( ok, not really but still)

he says it will only be "good" when temps are in 60-75 (or our 1 month winter range/hurricane weather(HAHAH))

any how.. is there any one out here in souther florida that has a 19% with out a bunch of stuff (ie IC) that likes it?

I'm in Honolulu and have had a 19pulley for over 2 years without issue, few other MINIs here also have 19. Our weather doesn't get as hot as Miami nor as cool. Daytime weather is mostly in the high 80's, high 70s in winter--evenings mostly in 70s, sometimes 60s.

In August Helix installed larger injectors & GIAC & i just recently got larger intercooler. Ran car for yr & half with 19, header/miltek & Alta & no other changes. I track my car almost monthly w/o any issues so far. I do change my belt every 6-8 months.

just moved down here (Central Florida) and before i put on the ALTA TMIC, i had no problems when it came to the heat issue and my 19% pulley.... sounds like your "mini tuner" needs to go back to school!

Luis is pretty careful when it comes to tuning his cars. I'm not surprised that he might warn against it, because he treats everyone's car like his own. personally appreciate that about him. BUT, I agree with Mike....don't think it'll be a problem, at least not for a while. I'm sure that if Luis knows that you know it could potentially be an issue, he won't stand in your way. Let us know how it turns out!
