Mileage & mods: better all the time!!

I am perplexed: My 04' Works car w/ it's now 6 month old 05' upgrades (380 injectors. air box, software) is getting better mileage. Much better:
-With no new mods to the car in months (Pirelli PRosso's, 17" SSR Comp wheels are not new additions) and w/o changing my driving habits my car is getting averages' of app. 3 miles per gallon better on highway & 2 mpg improvement city (33/27 respectively.)
I calculate mileage by dividing pump & odometer data.
-Could this be related to reformulated gas (post hurricane?) Since the weather in N Texas has only now cooled down, the mileage figures don't seem related to temp. or humidity.
-What ever the reason I am truly surprised: Even in "spirited driving events" my car seems to have unusual & frugal gas consumption (I buy gas at several different Exxon, Texaco & Shell stations)
-Could this be a software artifact?

Could it be because now you have gone through your "sh*t my car is now faster stage" during the Post-MODs...??? For me anyhow, after a new MOD, I usually drive the car harder but after that feeling goes away, I go back to more "relax, floor it only when I am in the mood", so your right foot gets lighter...

Heh heh. Very good point, betet. I installed a pulley just last week (which I enjoy quite a bit) and I'm already noticing that I am not "gassing" it quite as much as I did the first few days.

Pre-pulley gas mileage was about 29 mixed hwy/city driving.

Post-pulley gas mileage is hovering around 26 in mixed hwy/city.

Today, I saw the average climb up over 27mpg. I think it is more me than the mods!

I don't know how you guys do it.

My first tank of gas after my pulley i got 164 miles out of the tank. What is that about 12.5 mpg?

I usually average right around 16.5-16.9 mpg

16 mpg???? holy cow... that's a little better than an RX8.. you must know how to enjoy your car then I get my high (not good) mileage, because most of the time I'm stuck in some famous CALI bumper to bumper traffic...

12 mpg is what I probably do on the track, but man oh man..
