Sorry if this is a stupid question but I was wondering if performing the HP mods often discussed in this forum (Intake, pulley, exhaust) would dramatically increase the engine's operating temperature? and what effects would this have on the engine's lifetime?

I would guess that a more violent explosion in the chamber would increase the temp but I have no idea how much.

Thanks

Chuck

I would think the intake and exhaust would actually cool
the engine. As far as the pulley, I'll let a supercharger
expert take that one.

Good queston Chuck. That was one of the reasons I wanted to do the pulley myself, to be sure no water pump cavitation was occuring at high rpm that would elevate engine temps.

It doesn't. I haven't had any problems with the motor running any higher than the center mark (right where it was before). We have had a couple of unseasonably warm days too where I was able to keep the car at redline in nice warm weather to be sure there are no issues.

The software will be here by the end of this week, so I'll be doing some track testing, dyno runs, and street driving to ensure there are no problems. After the evaluation period, a new package with some very impressive numbers will be available. I'm still working out the pricing and exclusivity deals with other manufacturers - but I promise that MCO will be the first to hear about it!

Teaser:
15% reduction pulley
ECU mocification
Header
Exhaust
Intake
~215 hp/~198 lb/ft

Cool. I won't have to be jealous of the future variants. Think you guys wil liscense an east-coast distributor for instals? Like possibly Helix (They are nice and local)? The Pulley how-to scares me without a full-blown manual to help me along.

Not sure yet Verruckt.

What I will be able to do is allow a shop to bring your car down to the supercharger, then have you send the supercharger and ECU here for modification if you are concerned with the shop being able to do it. Helix shouldn't have a problem with it though.

More details on the logistics of the kit are still coming.

Randy,

Oh I am salivating over your little tease, that car could out handle and perform lots of cars, but my question is what is the effect of all those mods on your emissions (mainly gas mileage), have you noticed a difference.
