Questions about boost level

I just installed the Alta 15% pulley and my max boost level went from 10 PSI to 14 PSI. Is this normal? I was told to expect 17 PSI with the 15% pulley. I'm measuring boost using the Mini boost gauge accessory kit which mounts by the tach. It was dealer installed.

After data logging the boost levels straight from the ECU we have always
seen 13.7-13.8 psi worth of boost. There's absolutly no way to get
anywhere near 17psi worth of boost with a 15% pulley.
Your gauge is right on......go out and enjoy your new found power

Yeah that's right. 15 lbs max for a 15% reduction. 14 lbs seems about right. The more mods you add to free up the flow path, the less boost you'll get. These will lower boost (and heat) but increase power - both a good thing.

M7, since your datalogger does not show gauge pressure, what were the actual readings that you got? FWIW, I've seen considerably higher boost with a 15% pulley than 13.7-13.8 psi both with my Omori mechanical boost gauge and using BiM-COM (which has over 140 times better resolution, and 60 times better sample rate than the Davis Carchip generic scanner OBD-2 scanner that M7 uses).
