I know that upper stress bars have an impact on front suspension integrity in a lot of cars. The MINI seems to be a pretty well built in this regard. How many think this extra stiffness is necessary for the MINI. Is it worth it, or is my money better spent elsewhere on the car?

The MINI is extremely torsionally rigid.

That said, if it doesn't weigh that much, and doesn't interfere with the intake, triangulation can't be bad.

I wouldn't start with that though. If you have already spent the money on suspension, brakes, power, and tires, you could start doing things like the strut brace.

As an update to the question of using the Rogue intake with a strut brace, there is a design in the works, but basically you can use any strut brace and modify the heat shield to fit. What will eventually be done most likely, is a strut brace designed to work with a modified heat shield, so you can order them together. Obviously, the new heat shield won't fit every strut brace, so if you already have the intake, you should just get the brace you want and make it work. I know that's not the best solution, but it is the only one available right now.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
