Important info for 2005 MCSa and Alta Intake
All,
For those who have a 2005 MCSa (Automatic) want to (have gotten) the Alta air intake.
We, for some reason, have 2 small tubes going into the side of the tube that goes to the supercharger. The optional silicone tube only has one small side input (all other MINI's only have 1 small tube)
I spoke to ALTA, and they said they will not be making a seperate tube, but MIGHT make a nice T or Y to connect the 2 into 1. They said they have only seen one 2005 MCSa and didn't have time to really examine it, and I was the only other person so far to point it out. So don't expect it any time soon. So you have 3 options:
1) Buy the Alta intake without the optional tube. Doesn't really change the power gain any (or if so it is soooo small) the tube is mostly for looks (or so Alta even admitted). Saves you about $50 too.
2) By the tube and jury rig a T or Y from an auto parts shop. I looked at options to try to do it, but eventally realized that anything I jury rigged would look ugly and I wouldn't trust it as much.
3) By the tube with the intake (buying the tube by itself later would cost quite a bit more) and hope Alta will come out with a nice Y that looks good. Since I already bought it with the tube, this is what I will do.
Hope this helps any fellow MCSa owner. The Alta Intake is awesome though!

I have a M7 AGS on the way so I hope I don't have such a problem.
This was brought up a month or 2 ago on a different thread -- I'm pretty sure I remember Jeff from Alta (ALTA2) saying that they would send the tee or Y-connector to anyone that needs one. I'll see if I can dig up the thread....
