Fantastic! The first with a thermostat... I like the tap points also. I recall that you added an oil pressure tee for a remote sender, and you also tapped the boss side for an oil temp sensor, on the oil filter housing. Glad you are doing this!

Very nice, especially with the thermostat.

What type of connector are you using to get your input and output from the engine? I see the fittings, just wondering where they screw in.

I'll be intested to hear if the cooler is large enough to maintain your target temps.

i still have to make a blank-off plate to replace the existing oil filter housing, suitably tapped for the oil lines and temp/pressure senders. for the technical tyros: the filter is Canton/Mecca, the lines, cooler and fittings are -10AN, and the thermostat (and most of the components) are from Pegasus. Several sizes of cooler are available; I chose a smaller one with AN fittings/

JLM that is a very interesting project but I have a few questions.

1/ What was the reason you decided that the mini needed assistance in this area?

2/ What are the before and after deltas preferably at each 10 mph increment within oh lets say 5 different ambient ranges?

3/ What were the before and after DYNO numbers , SAE of course?

4/ what is the altitude of the dyno shop

5/ Could you provide the names and addresses of 5 witnesses unknown to you before the test?

6/ How will this affect my warranty?

7/ What long term testing have you done and how will this shorten or lengthen the life of my car?

8/ How much is your markup and what will you do with the profits?

9/ Could you please post your resume so we can be sure you know what you are doing?

10/ How will the added weight to the car affect the handling characteristics of the car?

11/ Will there be any additional brake wear do to the added weight? If so how much?

12/ How will the added performance off set the added weight in my 1/4 mile times?

13/ Can I get the hoses in green ? If not why not?

14/ What is your warranty and return policy ?

15/ When will you be shipping these ? Why is it taking so long ??

That should do it for now , if you can answer these to my satisfaction I may consider buying it . Welcome to the new NAM

The fact that people automatically assume that everything is an advertisement says something about the direction the site has taken.

I'm disappointed that conehead felt the need to bring the drama into an otherwise good thread.

Not to cut you off, but it really doesn't matter until you have a way to get the oil and return lines situated.

If MINI had used a standard spin-on filter like everyone else on the planet you could just get an off-the-shelf adapter plate to get your feeds. As it is, you're looking at something entirely custom, like JLM's proposing, or using something like the madness adapter (which doesn't allow for a remote filter, and is priced about 2-3 times what it's worth IMO).

The part numbers of all the fittings and hose will change depening on what size line you decide to run. Everyone has a different opionion, ranging from -8 to -12.

Yea, think has a lot of stuff. Considering they're out of the UK though, there are more practical places to shop for most of us. They're about the only decent online source for Laminova heat exchangers though, which is why I'm aware of them.
