Does this look right?

Just unboxed my new Milltek Cooper exhaust and the hangers don't look right, looks like one got bent in transit. Shouldn't the rear hangers be parallel? Here are a couple of pics:

My Milltek MCS exhaust hangers got a tiny bit 'tweaked' in transit as well. It was a simple matter to 'tweak' them back during the installation. I just grabbed them and straightened them by hand. And yes, I do have a very strong grip.

After the exhaust was in, I discovered the hangers also needed a bit of 'persuasion' to center the exhaust tips in the rear valance cutout. This is common with just about any exhaust installation.

Since those stainless posts go through rubber hangers, there is some wiggle room so you may not need to do any "persuasion". But, as Greatbear mentioned, the only way to know is to install it to see how it fits. In any case, it doesn't look to be damaged in an unuseable sort of way.

Yea the hangers do look slightly bent. Just bend them back so they're pointing at each other, you'll be good to go.

Mine looked like a 100 cows stepped on the box before it arrived at
the door.

I thought I read somewhere that Milltek fixed their cartons/packaging?
No?

I got it installed today. One of the posts had to be bent back, but it turned out to be no big deal. Everything lined up great when I left the shop, but now that I'm home I noticed that the tip seems to have shifted to the right, probably because of heat expansion. Any advice?

Thanks everyone for all the input!

I received mine last Friday night. The box looked great and the Milltek inside seemed perfect. I had it hung Saturday morning and after some small tweaks and tugs it hung fantastic.

Big 650 plus mile road trip to the dealer tomorrow for my once every couple years service and can’t wait to get this thing on the road.

Just got back from a test drive with the new system and I noticed a ticking sound on hard left turns. I think it needs to be adjusted.

Greg67,

Take a look at your right muffler, outside hanger. It may need to be bent out a little more, as it may be pulling your tips to the right. I had to adjust mine slightly on my Scorpion exhaust, and actually need time to adjust it a little more. If that hanger (arm) is too straight up or bent inward slightly, it pulls the tips to the right slightly. Hope this is helpful.

Also, obviously the opposite would be true if the inside hanger on your right muffler is bent to far toward the side outside of the car. Good luck.
