I got a hold of magnaflow through emailing tech support. I told them I've been under the car several times to see if the exhaust is hitting the heat shield and if anything is loose and it all looks fine. I told them it sounds to me like its a bad resonator. I got an email back confirming it was a bad resonator and that if I provided my address I would receive a new one. I waited about 10 days and received nothing so I sent off another email and asked when I should be expecting the new exhaust. I got a response saying they were waiting for the first production shipment to come in and that mine was going to be sent out the next day. A few days later it showed up.

I don't know if this helps any but if you are having trouble getting anything done maybe try sending an email to tech support.

I just sent an email detailing my exhausting experience.

This has taken way too long to obtain a new resonator.

I'll report back when I know more...

When I called they told me they were waiting on some new resonators to be mfg. They said it would be aprrox 6+ weeks. 7 days later mine showed up. Mine is like the one shown, it is the same length as the original one. One positive note was the fact that now that the new one is more tapered at the begining of the resonator (flange side), it is easy to get a box wrench over the nut.
I could be wrong but, is the system louder now?

I noticed with the new resonator it was more rounded on the ends instead of a cylinder. That made for a more deep growl. Also being a new resonator it has less garbage collected in it and so should be a bit louder. That is until the garbage from your engine collects in it

I found my new one to be a bit more mellow... wasn't as annoying on my trip to the Dragon as usual.
