Has anyone tried fitting an '05 Crank Pulley to an older car, say an '03?

According to Randy Web the new pulley is 1.7lbs lighter:

"The '05 cars after January build dates have a different crank pulley from the factory. That crank pulley weighs in a 5.5 lbs, whereas the earlier cars all the way back to '02 have the same 7.2lb crank pulley"

Webmotorsports: Alta Lightweight Crank Pulley

That's nearly 25% lighter and still OEM!

According to Classic Auto Campus the partnumber for the new dampener is 11-23-7-514-461 and goes for $200.00 with the NAM discount.

Ok, to summarize

Pilo Dampener
$400.00
4.56lbs (~37% lighter)
Oversized available

'05 OEM Dampener
$200.00
5.5lbs (~25% lighter)
Stock size only

Tough call. I guess if you are looking for the oversized feature then it is more obvious ...

I have a 2005 Jan 1st week build S. It looks like I have the lighter weight pulley. The outside diameter of the pulley is machined. My 2002 had a rough scaly surface. Just some info for the build time line.

Schweet! Somebody add that to the list of Jan production changes (or 05 changes if it started with the model year)

We have found out that manufacturing of the Mini Crank Pulley has resumed. We should have it for sale in the next week or 2.

I was just curious on how much effective boost this would with stock SC pully. I haven't gotten around to going to a 15% pully yet and wasn't really planning on going larger than that. So curious what change could be expected from just the 5% oversize.

And now add ANOTHER four months to this. What is going on? It seemed like a really good idea and was so close ( 2 weeks ) at one point and its now 8 months later.
