I am about to order and can't find less than $6k for the deal. I'll be ordering a MCS cabrio in the DC metro area. Any recommendations?? I'm currently looking at about 35k with the options I want. What's the best price around??

Welcome to NAM. Can't find it any cheaper myself, I've shopped Tate and Towson. Had one MA at Tate quote me $6500, when he'd offered $6000 before as the correct price. Didn't turn on my heel right there (as I was on the phone), but did go with another dealer, Classic MINI. Sure, I gotta fly to Cleveland; it'll be an adventure! Besides, I've got the vacation time.

I've heard good things about Brad at MINI of Towson (I think that's the name they go by) from owners in D.C. Metro MINIS. Folks at DCMM seem quite pleased with Towson's service; I'd recommend consulting the DCMM forum for more feedback on this.

For reference, Classic MINI got me a mid-April delivery slot (March build), with a $500 deposit. They also offer 20% off MSRP for dealer-installed options, barring JCW Tuning Kits. Tate wanted a grand, and would only budge on accessories when prodded. I only mentioned free floor mats, I didn't tell him about Classic's discount. Talk to Mike Kost or Julie there, and if it's Mike, tell him Matthew Zoglmann recommended you.

 

Thanks Matt. I've been dealing with Chris at Tate and he's ben very cool. He offered me a test drive without even asking for one upon my first visit. i just happenened to be in the area that day. After that, I was hooked. I race shifter karts and the car does corner very flat and smooth. I can't wait!!

I prefer to deal with a local dealer as service on the JCW kit after install I figure may be easier. I'm going to order the big brake kit after I receive the car as I can get someone to install who's a tech at another dealer. much cheaper road.
I'm still debating color....
