I'm in the process of getting a 15% pulley and just started reading about the crank pulley. I'm a little lost as to the pros vs. cons of having an aftermarket crank pulley installed. I've read a few threads but still don't quite understand the benefits. Thanks in advance for any info!

 

I have been warned by three "tuners" to stay away from this for the street. (drag racing OK) Has to do with vibration dampning and like issues. I'm sure this will stir some debate but I'm going to let others be the pioneers on this one.

The benefit is the weight savings. Rotating weight has exponential properties and if you can save weight, in this case lots, your that much better off. However, if the engine requires the dampning properties of the stock pulley to keep from shaking itself apart.............

I am not a "tuner" and I don't play one on TV so this is only as I understand it. I'm sure other can give a much better explanation
