Hi Randy: (no response necessary)

Thanks for your cordial message above. I am on a long waiting list to order my car. When that time approaches (mid-summer?) perhaps I can contact you for recommendations. And instead of driving to your place I hope the car can be transported directly from the dealer (not in my state) to your shop (not in my state) so that I can fly there to say hello in person and pick it up when its ready (anytime except winter).

Randy, any chance of your being able to do a few Milltek installs in Vegas next month?

I already e-mailed lefty, and am in for the cat back (as Frodo also mentioned) and will consider the full system for the right price.

Randy- APO addresses will not be a problem, right?

Run...AMOK!

Let's start compiling a list. I would rather you guys cooridinate the buy, so anyone interested in gathering those participating and posting them in one list, then editing to add new ones would be very helpful. Including things such as APO addresses and headers also helps.

Thanks!

I would, but I cant edit the first post as I didn't start it. Usually the person posting has everyone PM them and adds them to the list on the first post. If no one wants to start the list, I can but it wouldn't be the first post.

PS Randy, did you get my wish list email?

Latest on Group Buy

Here's the latest from Randy. You all need to understand that the UK group buy was done directly from Miltek. In this country there is a distributor and the retailer to add to the cost. Right now Randy says that if we have 15 or more buyers he will sell the Miltek MCS cat back system for $595. That's $100.00 off his normal price. He will be contacting the US Distributor and Miltek in the UK to see whether or not they will discount the systems further. If so, he will pass the discount on to us. This price does not include shipping, which in the States will range from $35 to $55.

Randy is placing a new order with Miltek, as he is out of stock, so an additional consideration will be whether we want to pay an additional cost for air freight, which I, personally, don't think is necessary, I'd rather save the money than the time.

APO freight will be somewhat more.

I will be posting a list of those interested on my first post and will update it with additions and withdrawals. There will be a deadline by which you will have to fax your personal information to Randy: user name, real name, address, telephone number, year and model of car, and credit card name, number and expiration date.

You should be aware that this is a real hassle for Randy as he has more inconvenience than a normal sale with less profit.

Thanks for all your interest.

I do not know how you are keeping track of it, but Frodo and I are the APO people.

Thanks.

You may want to call Randy and speak to him directly about what the difference will be in APO shipping. If it is too much and you're no longer interested PM me. However, my understanding is that the APO shipping extra will be the same wherever you buy a system. (Except if you bought it from England and it was shipped directly to you).

I think you got my name from MINI2 already, but to make it official:

I am in! I need one exhaust for an '05 Cooper S. My car isn't even here until May... But this will make the buying of mods less painful by spreading them out.

I am in such a heap of trouble as I also have a new Ducati on order for March delivery. There goes more mod money...

Thanks. Keep us posted!

Right now he will give us $75.00 off the $695.00 price for under 15 orders and $100 off for 15 or more. He is negotiating with Miltek and the U.S. distributor for further discounts which he will pass on to us. Shipping is not included and will be $35-55 in the U.S and more for APO. The U.K group buy was directly from Miltek so the savings were greater.

I'm listing everyone who has expressed a definite interest, not those who have indicated a reservation based upon price. If you are interested either post to this list or PM me and I will add your name. If not, and I listed you, do the same and I will remove you. I will update regarding the final price as soon as I learn more from Randy.

When the final information is learned, there will be a deadline and everyone will need to fax Randy with their personal information, including credit card info. All purchases will have to be by credit card. (See more info on my post on page 2)

As you can see, there has already been movement on and off the list below. Randy tells me this is common, and one of the reasons that group buys are a pain to organize. Be aware that the deadline (not yet set) will determine the number of people invoved in the buy and, hence, the price break. If some people back out at the last minute the discount may not be as great so you should be prepared to indicate whether you will still be interested at the higher price (smaller discount).

Thanks for your interest.

Question on shipping for Randy

Does Milltek ship to the distributor who then ships to Randy who then ships to us?

Milltek -> Shipping $ -> Distributor -> Shipping $ -> Randy -> Shipping $ -> Us!!!

Can we arrange a drop ship from manufacturer or distributor directly to customer to save some shipping cost (and passing that savings on as a lower price) out of the equation?

Possible?

I understand there is going to be a price difference in shipping. Randy just said that he wanted someone to keep track of who was an APO address and who was a regular US address. I was just trying to help you with that.

Thanks for heading this up!

I am not going to be able to do the header, but I am in for the catback, and will have the $$$ tomorrow (according to irs.gov).

Do we have a cutoff date since we have met the minimum 15?

The distributor charges $695 (http://www.stratmosphere.com/milltek_mini.htm), so Randy is cutting us a deal as it is. Stratmosphere is the only Authorized Distributor in the US according to Milltek (http://www.millteksport.com/stockist...m?variantid=74).

No cut off date, yet. Randy is trying to get the distributor and manufacurer to help sweeten the deal and we DO NOT have 15 as people keep dropping out. Which is the main reason a group buy is a pain for those organizing it. I could have spent the time flipping burgers at McDonald's as a second job and earned the money to pay the difference from the discount and Randy will have even more work to do for less profit. We will not have a firm count until everyone has actually provided their credit card info to Randy.

I have spoken with the powers at large, and the units will be shipped directly to me from the UK. The best price break we will get is me taking my margin off the top, so it stands at $599 - a great deal for you guys if you knew what I paid!

I am capping the buy at 15 units. It really doesn't make much marketing sense to sell these at a discounted rate. They sell very well at the $695 price, so much so that we have a tough time keeping them in stock. It is a great unit that sells itself!

I just want to accomodate the community - so remember the favor

Randy

PS - I need folks on the list to confirm with faxes including all of the pertinent info (screeen name, real name, shipping and billing address, and a major credit card with expiration date)

Me too! '04 MCS (10/26/04 build). Faxed.

I realize I'm a little late to this thread, but if someone else doesn't opt to purchase, I'm all in.
